Finally got Bit to relax and nap up on her shelf. It’s still not her go-to escape route when being chased, but we’re making progress. As far as the rest of the cats go, they are all still somewhat confounded by their inability to get into the cabinet, but for the most part they leave it alone. Kiska, however, routinely sleeps on the shelf in front of the flap, usually all cuddled up below the door frame hoping it will impart its secrets to her.
