Miscellaneous Pics

We are getting an outdoor non-freezing spigot right next to the horses.  This will make filling water, especially in winter, much easier!  Our builder even got it in blue to match the house!

Here’s our electrical box with its “finished look” in contrast to the crazy wires everywhere from earlier.  It looks so neat and tidy!  and complicated!

In preparation for the insulation folks to do the blown-in rafter insulation, our builder had all of his stuff either taken out of the house completely or moved into the smaller rooms with the plywood ceiling, so we got a nice idea of what the kitchen/dining area/living room looks like:

Patio Prep

We had planned on having a couple wooden decks, one off each door, but instead we’ve gone with poured cement patios, 2 sections wide each.  The patio off the kitchen will have the roof overhang supports, so it has to have proper foundation laid.  So, here we have the spray-painted outline of where that patio will go.

Fastest House Builders Around

We are very happy to have brought in the Deltec-trained, very experienced consultant, as he has helped our builder put together the house in no time at all.  Not quite done with the roof yet and the soffit and fascia aren’t on, but it’s close.  Once again my trusty inspection crew of Sister and Pearl were with me checking things out.

Gravel!!

Today was a gravel day.  Actually, yesterday they dropped off 2 loads of gravel for the driveway but they didn’t get spread until today.  They also brought in the pea gravel for backfilling the foundation.  So, we now have a driveway from the old driveway up to the new house.  It’s not “finished” yet, as the builder has said after the heavy trucks are done driving on it, they’ll cover it with a layer of smaller rocks with limestone in it to facilitate the creation of a solid surface as the cycles of rain/dry occur.  We also have the foundation filled back in now with tiny rocks and ready for the final concrete pour tomorrow.
